The Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. presents

“Location, Location, Location: The Oblong of Dutchess, Putnam & Westchester Counties” with Judith Herbert

Register for Zoom Meeting:

A strip of land that was sometimes part of Connecticut and sometimes part of New York, known as the Oblong, has a rich history and was home to some of the area’s early families. Understanding the Oblong geographically and administratively will help you to locate records of your ancestors that lived in the area.

Judith is a member of the Editorial Board of The Record, the quarterly journal of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&B). She specializes in research in NY, CT and MA, from the colonial period to the early 20th century. She teaches genealogy classes, is a guest lecturer on a variety of genealogical topics and served as mentor for the ProGen 38 Study Group. Judith lives in New York’s Capital District and has been taking client work since 2009.
