ENTRY FORMS FOR 2010 LITERARY AWARD CONTESTS NOW AVAILABLE
The Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. is proud to announce the 23rd Annual Literary Award Contest. Prizes will be given in four categories: GENEALOGY, FAMILY HISTORY, GENEALOGICAL RESOURCE and FLEDGLING ESSAY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CSG MEMBER TO ENTER.
GENEALOGY CATEGORY
Must have New England content. Begins with a person(s) and moves
forward in time with descendants in succeeding generations. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded.
FAMILY HISTORY
Must have New England content. Begins with a person(s) and moves backward in time tracing lineage. A prize of $500 will be awarded.
GENEALOGICAL RESOURCE
Could be any compilation or tool of value in aiding New England genealogy ... cemetery abstracts, compilations, court records, headstone photographs, research tools etc. A prize of $500 will be awarded.
FLEDGLING ESSAY
High school (grades 9-12) student essays with relevance to New England. A wide variety of possible topics are acceptable including interviews with family members, family traditions, personal observations or experiences, etc. Students are encouraged to be creative in topic selection. A prize of $250 will be awarded.
