History
Brief: |
Ellington was part of Windsor and was known as Goshen or Windsor Goshen (to distinguish it from Goshen in Litchfield County). It became Ellington Parish in October 1736. Ellington was incorporated as a town in May 1786. Town vital records begin 1754. Barbour collection records cover 1786-1850 (Marriage 1820-53). |
