History
Brief:
This town was originally part of Norwalk. Settlement of this section began about 1701, though there were scattered residences before 1651. On 12 May 1726, the inhabitants of Kent, Belden Hill and Chestnut Hill joined together to become a Parish. In 1802, the Parish was incorporated as the town of Wilton. Town vital records begin 1802. Barbour collection records cover 1802-1850.
